I lost 30lbs in 2 months, cheaply, without pain and now I really do feel good.
Do you want to know how a £20.00 note lost me weight and changed my life? It can do the same for you.
Let me tell you a true story that I have called "My Moment
of Truth"
Head
In Sand
I'll bet most of you always kept fairly fit during your twenties and early thirties. I did. Then along came the lethargic forties. I feared standing on the bathroom scales, made excuses why my trousers no longer fit and was convinced it was trendy to wear shirts outside trousers. Puffing and panting after rushing up a flight of stairs or walking quickly along the street to McDonalds. It's OK holding the stomach in when getting dressed, but you can't hold that pose for long. Then I would glance in a mirror or shop window, oh no what's that looking back at me, the belly over the belt syndrome, sagging bum etc. etc. Must be a cheap mirror distorting the image. And it gets worse after a meal and a few drinks, instant growth. How many of you have discreetly undone that button during a meal? Come on, be honest, we have all been there.
Moment of Truth
On a blustery October morning after leaving the bank I was walking along Albert Road heading for the grocery shop. I pulled my money out of my back pocket and dropped a £20.00 note. As I bent down to pick up the note a gust of wind blew it off along Albert Road. I gave chase. Pushing past other shoppers I raced after it. To my unbelievable dismay the wind won the race as the note disappeared into the distance. Hands on knees and lungs heaving I was out of wind and £20 out of pocket. But I reckoned I could not have been chasing the note for more than 30 seconds. Yes 30 seconds, you try it, without the note of course.
I returned home and told my wife of my loss. She laughed and crushed my pride with harsh words "That is £20 well spent. At last you have discovered what we have all known for a long time. Stop kidding yourself, you are out of condition and overweight." WOW my moment of truth had just smacked me where it hurt most.
Decision Time
I sulked for the rest of the day, had a lousy nights sleep and on rising in the morning decided to confront the situation. I stripped off, put on my honesty glasses and stood in front of the mirror for a full minute. Believe me one minute is a long time when you do not like what you see. Not only had I grown a spare tyre (tractor size) which started somewhere round my back, but I had developed boobs, my upper thighs wobbled not to mention my backside.
Now for the scales, 14 stone 3lbs (199lbs) a good 30lbs overweight. Serious depression, my moment of truth had truly landed. What I did not realise until 2 months later, not only was I overweight and out of condition but I did not feel good within my general self.
Action Time
Now one thing I can brag about is that I will not shirk from a challenge and this was some challenge. I was worried enough from what I saw in the mirror to take it seriously. We all know if you attack this sort of challenge like a bull at a gate it won't last and you will be back where you started. We've all been on the Yo Yo weight roller coaster so I set some sensible goals. No crazy diets and I certainly don't want to be a marathon runner.
- Loose 2 stone in weight and stay at that weight.
- Regain a sensible level of fitness (I do not want to loose another £20).
- Enjoy a better quality of life through fitness and good eating.
- Keep it simple and cheap, I haven't money to throw away let alone blow away.
- Keep within my own environment, I want to control what I do and when I do it.
- And most important lets make it enjoyable, not a chore.
Research Time
I knew exactly what I wanted. How many times have you been down the road of fantasy diets, wonder weight loosing gadgets, fitness tapes, videos, rowing machine that fits into a shoe box, fold away cycling machine, squeeze this spring or pull that rope jump on this box, 15 minutes a day for a super models body. Baloney! Been there seen it all. 2 weeks and it's on the scrap heap. Good salesmen. Sound familiar.
For the next 2 months I spent every spare hour, often into the early hours, reading, asking, listening, watching and researching a programme to achieve my goals. I recalled back to my sporting teens and twenties and the training the coaches put us through. I had meetings with trainers at local sports centres, a dietician, a doctor and a beautician (yes a beautician) and eventually came up with my unique programme for health, fitness, diet and relaxation. Yes it has to be a combination to really work.
Time To Give It A Go
I started the programme. Well OK there was some chopping and changing, fine-tuning, re arranging but the results were amazing. Yes in 2 months I did loose 30lbs and achieved my goals. Wonderful. But as I mentioned earlier the bonus I did not expect is the marvellous way I feel both in body and mind. I also feel mentally fit. To coin the phrase I FEEL GOOD is an understatement. Those 2 months or should I say that £20 note changed my life and well being for now and the future. Now I feel a million dollars. Do you realise when you feel fit and look good your confidence level rises - you're a winner - you have entered into the feel good syndrome.
Share My Experience.
Admittedly I did put a few pounds back on, but the weight stabilised and by continuing with the programme I was soon back on track.
I was so pleased with the results I asked 4 friends to try my FEEL GOOD programme. Howard and Linda took me up on it. Yes the programme is equally suitable for both MEN and WOMEN.
The results were brilliant, Howard lost 20lbs and Linda 13lbs in the first 2 months. More to the point they both feel so much better in their general well being, mentally fitter.
It was after this trial that Howard approached me and insisted I marketed the programme. "There are millions out there who will benefit from your programme, it is so adaptable that anyone can use it no matter what level of fitness they are at."
That was over 12 months ago and because of the success rate I have called my programme The Feel Good Syndrome from The Feel Good Team.
