Follow government advice AND have your meals delivered

Here in the UK, we’re fortunate enough to get top advice from the National Health Service and the Government on how to eat well for our health.  The Government website states that many of us are eating way too much and not taking enough exercise.  They then proceed to tell you how much you should be eating and how to cut down on the calories.  It all makes excellent and inspirational reading.

What I found problematical was translating this advice into actions.  There are many great foods to choose from, but I was buying too many of them, with the very best of intentions.  I discovered that a delivery diet was the answer.  In order to start a new regime I had realised I would have to be very strict with myself when I visited the supermarket.  However, for a small fee all the right meals could be delivered to my door in a hamper and all I would have to do is heat them, adding my own choice of fruit and veg.  The meals would strictly follow government health advice and eliminate the need for me to make complex choices.

Turning to a Diet delivery service meant that I would be cutting down on the calories, eating less saturated fat, sugars and salt.  It would be advisable to drink plenty of water – around a litre a day and I could still have my tea and coffee – albeit with no sugar. So, for once, I’ve obeyed the rules and with a little bit of help, I’m well on the way to a new, slimmer me!
